The egs is a network of independent scientists and experts solving problems in environmental geosciences. The network serves as a clearinghouse for questions from individuals and companies, offering advice, solutions, literature surveys and excursions.

In 1962, Rachel Carson published "Silent Spring".

In 1987, the World Commission on Environment and Development states that we must ensure that humanity meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

In 1992, the Earth Summit takes place in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2002, the World Watch Institute states that not much has changed.

We think, that everybody at every level can contribute to the idea of a sustainable development in line with the ideas of Rio and in harmony with nature.
